Iiiiitttt'sssss MEEEEEEEE 
So I haven't updated my DA in several months now. This does not by any means I'm thinking of leaving - I plan to be around here for a good while yet! But college is kicking my butt and then some right now, and I haven't had any spare time to indulge in personal art. I might upload some of my coursework stuff on here, but since most of it is architectural, I'm not sure how well it will go with the fantasy/animal stuff I use this account for. Either way, I will definitely be back for reals and uploading art again over the summer!
Also, after 7 years I decided that "goldenphoenix100" reeked of "made this account when she was 14", and I felt it was high time to change it to something a little more subtle. I had a few people express some surprise at the choice of name change, and felt that "golphee" sounds quite awkward, but I really wanted to keep some reference to my old username, dated as it is, and I felt golphee was a reasonable compromise. I welcome feedback, positive or negative though, so feel free to share your thoughts!
To those of you who have commented already, and to comments in general that I haven't replied to in the last month or two, thank you so much for your input as always, and I'm really sorry I haven't had the time to get back to everyone. I promise I'll be a lot more active after next week!

A disturbingly long time. 7 years to be precise.
What does your username mean?
Golphee was originally GoldenPhoenix101, changed to GoldenPhoenix100. I made the username when I was about 13 and wanted a username with a colourful fantasy creature. Even then I didn't like it much, but it's been my default username for so long now that it feels inherently me. I like Golphee a lot better though.

So I just got here yesterday, and frankly you crazy Fins have some nerve hogging such an incredibly beautiful country to yourselves! Plus all the people here are so damn nice! No wonder Finland produces so many talented artists - the inspiration here is endless! Your language is terrifying though. Sorry but it's true :P
On an actual art note, expect more from me over the summer when I should have some time to upload more regularly again. In the meantime, anyone who wants to hang round the Helsinki/Tampere area is welcome :D

Hi guys! Me again! :D
Firstly a massive thank you to everyone who replied to my last journal offering to help me with my Finnish. I couldn't believe how many people are kind enough to want to help me, and since I was only expecting one or two if I was lucky, I was completely overwhelmed by the response I got. You guys are truly awesome! I couldn't reply to everyone, but know that I'm really grateful to all of you, and if anyone ever wants to strike up a comment/note chat or leave a comment in Finnish, please feel free to do so :D

Okaay, so this is one of the weirdest things I've ever done, and is probably also one of the weirdest journal entries on DA, so bear with me.
I am currently studying Finnish, a slooow process which I am nonetheless determinately trying to keep with until I can at least get to a conversational level. I'm only reading books at the moment, and ideally I'd really like to be able to do some talking (however basic) in the language. So if you are or speak Finnish, have Skype or a similar messaging program which enables voice communication, and have a great deal of patience, I would be overjoyed if you'd let me abuse your ears with some VERY rudimen

I totally didn't pick up on the 'golden phoenix' part of your rename. I was sad to see it change - I struggle with change when I feel the past is somehow, squarely put in the past by it.
I don't know you as a person, and frankly I think that means you owe nothing to me or my nostalgia. But your animations and speedpaints are definitely something I remember from that era of my life. It surprised me how much I was taken aback by your name change!
But seeing that 'Golphee' actually -does- nod to it makes me feel better.
